Tampa is a unique place both to live and work, but if you’re not quite sure it’s the best location for your company, you may want to think again. Not sure what to do in downtown Tampa? Well, there are many downtown Tampa activities you and your entire team will absolutely love. Take a look at some of the area’s best attractions.

What to do in Downtown Tampa? Start at The Riverwalk

Whether you go for the tourist spots, the food trucks, or the many festivals held on the riverwalk itself, this 2.6-mile stretch is nothing short of amazing. Here you’ll find plenty to keep you busy as well as lots of different spots you’re certain to want to try on every business lunch this year.

The Florida Aquarium

A leader in marine conservation in the United States, this attraction is home to many sea creatures native to Florida and some who aren’t. There’s a chance to meet arctic penguins every day, and if you’re bringing the whole family, the kids can play in an aquatic-themed park area.

Wat Mongkolratanaram Thai Temple

Open from eight to one each day, here you can soak in the beauty of the temple itself, taste authentic Thai food from the many vendors near the Temple, or listen to the monks as they go about their daily rituals. Sitting on the banks of the Palm River, this is a great introduction to Thai culture and a fantastic way to wind down after a productive day at the office.

The Tampa Museum of Art

When people ask what to do in downtown Tampa, this is at the top of the list, depending on the person. Founded nearly a century ago, this museum has one of the largest Greek and Roman collections in the United States. With year-round offerings that include studio classes, lectures, tours, and more, this is a changing space that is both exciting and fun.

Centro Ybor

A key part of the city, this was actually declared a United States Historical Landmark in the early ‘90s. There are a number of different museums to experience in this area, and if you love trying new restaurants, there are some phenomenal restaurants to try here. There are also a number of different shops to consider. Every Saturday, the streets are packed with vendors who have artwork, plants, produce, and lots of food. This space has a fairly vibrant nightlife too, with lots of music venues, bars, and nightclubs.

Need to Get Away? Consider These Options

Need a break from downtown? Don’t worry. There are plenty of things to do just outside of the city as well. Busch Gardens is one of the most popular ideas for a bit of fun. Not only do you get the opportunity to explore some amazing amusement park rides here, but you’ll also get a closer, personal wildlife experience unlike any other, as the park is home to 2,700 different animals.

If you love the chance to visit a good amusement park, you may want to make time to see Adventure Island Water Park. It’s just across the street from Busch Gardens, and inside, you’ll find exciting slides, beautiful waterfalls, and a number of different attractions for all ages. It also features a fantastic sand volleyball complex if you want to introduce a bit of competition to your weekend.

Weeki Wachee Spring State Park is another option just outside the city. The deepest freshwater cave system in the entire United States, this 200-acre state park features kayaking, swimming, and even a mermaid show.
